Discover Le fort pouzols-minervois

A great base for exploring the Languedoc

The Languedoc-Roussillon region has an average of 2,229 hours of sunshine a year – making it France’s second sunniest region after the Côte d’Azur (but at a fraction of the cost!). Pouzols-Minervois is a medieval village with about 500 inhabitants and 410 hectares of vineyards (138 winegrowers!). There is daily opportunity for tasting at the local wine merchant and wine cooperative.

The renovated church dates back to the 14th century. There are many walks and bike tours in the surrounding area. You can get your pizzas from the takeaway opposite the winery (200 metres from Le Fort). There are many walks and bike tours in the surrounding area. Shops and restaurants are in Olonzac at about 10 km. The beaches of the Mediterranean are only a 40 minute drive away.

Your hosts

Jeremy and Adrie met 25 years ago in Amsterdam and are got married in Somerset, UK, in June 2019. They divide their time between Pouzols-Minervois, London and Somerset.

"Jeremy worked at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange at the time," Adrie explains. "When he was transferred to London, we both moved there. Now he is retired and I continue to advise government and financial sector clients in the UK on how to create more engaging websites."

Their passion is to make Le Fort the perfect home to share with friends and other guests.

Stylish and comfortable

Le Fort Pouzols-Minervois offers stylish and comfortable accommodation, whether you are staying alone, as a couple or with friends and relatives.

There is no shortage of space at Le Fort. From the intimate lower ground floor terrace, the ground floor with its games room and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom right up to the top floor with its large sofa, summer kitchen and breathtaking roof terrace with pool: Le Fort has more than enough space to relax and unwind.

Two kitchens

Le Fort Pouzols-Minervois offers self-catering accommodation. Two well-equipped kitchens are at your disposal to create the most wonderful meals, using fresh ingredients from the local stores or markets.

Both are open kitchens, so that you can continue to chat to your fellow guests throughout. The first floor living room also has its own dining table, sofas and large flatscreen television. It is decorated with vintage concert posters from the private collection of the legendary Dutch concert promoter Lou van Rees.

The roof terrace

Amazing as it is to stay in a beautifully renovated 12th century fort, the real wow factor here is the roof terrace.

A large and very comfortable sofa, a fully equipped kitchen with mobile dining table (for those leisurely meals on the terrace) inside the conservatory and the outside terrace with its heated plunge pool overlooking the vineyards makes Le Fort Pouzols-Minervois a truly unique holiday home.
